Class Schedule and Membership Fees
All classes begin by reviewing a selection of basic techniques related to moving, falling, blending and redirecting. Over the course of the each class, techniques will become progressively more complex while we explore underlying principles and the limitless variations of the core techniques. Classes will also frequently include training with wooden weapons to help students understand the fundamentals of movement, distance, and body structure. New students always train with advanced students, but particular care is taken to practice techniques at a pace that is appropriate for each skill level.

Movement training is an excellent way to develop a base level of strength and fitness that will help you excel in any active pursuit, be it a martial art or just hiking.
In this class, we will focus on two principal approaches to conditioning. The first approach involves a variety of integrated body weight exercises and “primal” movement flows to develop your core and general body strength. Next, we will work on improving your overall flexibility through a series of static and dynamic stretching exercises.
Students will initially focus on learning movement patterns with proper technique and posture. As you develop more control, we will add cardio conditioning through brief interval or Tabata style workouts. Finally, we will use Aikido based movement and falling drills as a natural way to integrate dynamic balance work into every class.
This class is available to both Aikido of Flagstaff members and non-members. The conditioning and movement classes are one hour in length with an optional 30 minute open-mat period afterwards for practice. Participants should wear comfortable clothes for training.

Membership gives you access to all Aikido classes and conditioning classes. Dues are paid on a monthly basis. They may be paid in person with cash, credit, or debit card. They may also be paid online through our convenient payment web portal.
